Hey, Gang,
We arrived safely in Bradenton at my sister Re's house Sunday night....all is going well, great visiting, COOL weather for the subtropics (in the forties last night, high only 65 today, which the Floridians think is artic - they're all wearing sweaters and gloves!)
I just posted a web album (to your right--double-click on it if you want to see a bigger version) of the trip down. More photos as soon as I shoot some. Have to write my column for tomorrow's paper next.
Hope all is well with you all...keep me posted! I'll be checking your sites.

I looked, and all the pictures are wonderful!!! I didn't know holly grew like that:) Have a wonderful visit:) Love, Gerrie
Enjoyed your pix very much! The sky was so pretty over the gulf. HOpe you get a dose of real warm weather while there...am waiting for photos of beautiful bougainvillea...how's Ben? Have fun!
A great visual trip -- filled with the mundane along with the spectacular, just the way a trip would be. Highway shots, neon signs, beautiful buildings, spanish moss. Wonderful. Oh, and you and your abandoned, broken-down buildings! I bet you wish Jesus had said, "In my Father's house are many decrepit buildings. Bring your camera!"
Okay, here's my complaint. Have you seen Avarel yet? I want pictures of his business, his house... anything he'll let you post. Curiosity is killing me.
I am really impressed with what you must have had to do to get some of those shots! Great work in capturing things that are too often overlooked. You managed somehow, too, to capture the softness of Mississippi; your pictures convey some of that softness you can feel in the air when you're there. Great use of light, too, especially over the Gulf. What kind of camera are you using?
Have a great time with your sister. Dawn
