Hey, friends,
I'm so excited! Doyle and I are leaving early Saturday morning to drive the 853 miles to Boulder, Colorado, where we will spend the next six nights in a hotel and visit with my older son, Alex, and do lots of sightseeing. I haven't seen Alex since he came through here a year ago, on his way to his new home in Boulder, so I am READY to see my boy!
Alex (a fine arts major and a painter) is a grill chef at the Mediterranean Cafe. Have any of you ever eaten there?
I'm so excited about seeing my child, and about being in Colorado, where I haven't been since I was about eight years old. Doyle has spent a lot of time in Colorado in his lifetime, and is looking forward to showing me around.
Alex will be able to take three days off while we're there, so we'll all do some day-trips together. And he doesn't go in to work until late afternoon, so we'll be able to see him for a little while on those days, too.
Please pray that we'll have a safe trip. I'll take lots of photos, so will show you the highlights when we get back.
I'll be checking in, so keep me posted!
God bless you all, my friends.

Wonderful! I had no idea that you had such a potentially satisfying trip planned -- satisfying relationally and visually. I haven't been to the Rockies since I was a boy. You will have a fabulous time, I know. I'm looking forward to the photos! Do me a favor -- don't get caught in the "big things" photo trap. Give us your eye for the fascinating "little things," too. Blessings on your travel!
Celia, how exciting--to see Alex and to see Colorado too! I love COlorado; can't wait to see the pictures your amazing eye comes up with and read your observations about your experiences. I know you'll have a wonderful time.
Have a wonderful trip, Celia, and enjoy that son. We lived in Aurora, Colorado, for 3 years in the early 1980's and loved it. I have never felt healthier in my life than when we lived there. I am impressed that Alex is a chef in high altitude. I fancy myself a pretty good cook, but I still had to take a cooking class when we first arrived in Colorado in order to deal with the altitude issues. I'll look forward to your photo montage.
So glad for you! Have a great trip and we'll look forward to seeing pictures afterward.
Hope that your trip is all that you hope it will be...and then some!
Be safe and have fun!
Hello My Sweet long lost Friend! Your trip sounds FABULOUS! Tell Doyle that I said hello and you guys just have a wonderful time enjoying the drive and enjoying each other. You look beautiful in your photos. I 'captured' one of you and Doyle that I have on my computer so at least I get to see your sweet face and remember our meeting and how small this world really is! Enjoy every minute with your sweet son Alex! and plan a trip toward Nashville soon! We live about 40 minutes south and have room for you to stay if you are in these stomping grounds! Love to you! Blessings!
Isn't it great when your children become your grown-up friends? Glad to had a get-together!
